We booked Villa Sensano, as we had read very positive reviews of the host couple, Federica and Lavinia.
This was for sure true. We felt really really welcome.
On top of that, it was great to find out the place was very nice also.
You drive down a cypress alle, with valley on each side of the road – giving you a perfect view of the tuscan landscape.
We where there as a family with 3 small children and we where installed in a 2 bedroom appartment with bathroom, living room and a very nice size kitchen with a dinning table.
As the complete Villa is newly renovated, the standard was very high and everything was keep in good shape and very clean.
You then go from the appartment, to the pool, passing through a fruit garden where there is a nice placed with a grill where you can grill your Dinner, enjoying a scenic view over the hills.
The pool is also new and has a very high standard, clean and nice to use.
The Villa is right in the middle between the 2 historic towns Volterra and San Gimigano (must see). This means there is a 15-20 minutes drive to grocery shopping. However, the hosts has a small selection of food at the Villa where you can buy the basics of what you need, at normal supermarket prices – if you do not want to drive to town that day, if you run out of pasta etc
So all in all, if you want to spend some relaxing days in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Sensano if for sure the place to go.
