Our family of 5 recently stayed for a week at Relais Villa Sensano. Starting with our reception by our wonderful hosts, Lavinia and Federica, everything was perfect from start to finish. The villa is situated in the beautiful Tuscan countryside about midway between Volterra and San Gimignano in a perfect location for touring the area. We were able to use the villa as a base for visiting the above towns as well as Pisa, Lucca, Siena and Colle Val d’Elsa. The latter is a hidden gem and worth visiting. We stayed in the Laurence 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious, clean and came with 2 full bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. There is no air conditioning but it was not needed even in plus 30 degree C heat. The grounds are beautifully maintained with numerous olive and fruit trees. The pool was a welcome respite after a long day of touring. Our hosts were very helpful in recommending restaurants, winery tours and cooking classes and were able to book any reservations on request. They treated us as family rather than customers making the experience even better.
