If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday in Tuscany then why not head to this beautiful region. There are plenty of things to do.
Our Villa is located in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, and is a true oasis of peace, with all the comforts you need for a peaceful and thoroughly enjoyable break.
Located not too far away from Volterra which is the closest town to our villa, you will find Casciana Terme Nestled in the Pisan Hills, from our Villa, only 45 km and surrounded by stunning countryside, this village is well-known for its thermal water.
The story goes that during the 11th century, countess Matilda came to know about the healing properties of this thermal water after seeing her old, aching blackbird become more and more sprightly after visiting the water.
She subsequently started the development of the spa waters in Casciana and people have been visiting this charming little place for centuries. Nowadays, there are a wide range of facilities and therapies at this Thermal bath in Tuscany, including a large outdoor spa pool. Here, you can enjoy the pleasure of these warm waters, which are at a constant temperature of around 37°C.
As well as the thermal water, you can also indulge in a relaxing spa treatment in the wellness centre, located in the centre of the village. Choose from a variety of massages, including shiatsu and mud massages take part in a yoga class or just sit back and enjoy the Turkish bath or sauna.
A perfect place to find peace in body and mind.
Here at Villa Sensano we also have our very own wellness area, where you can indulge in some rest and relaxation without even leaving the grounds! While our fabulous Rapolano swimming pool is mainly used during the summer months, our wellness area can be used all year round; take a dip in our Jacuzzi or enjoy a lovely massage.
This is not the only way you can relax during the winter months at our villa though;
why not enjoy a game of chess in our beautiful, bright dining room, whilst indulging in a glass of local Tuscan wine? Those of you with a sweet tooth can also get your hands on a deliciously festive Castagnaccio (chestnut) cake, and enjoy a slice or two with a glass of local Vin Santo dessert wine.
